Anarchy Reigns: Consider Buying It

Today marks what is probably the end of Sega and Platinum Games's wonderful relationship together. Today is the release of Anarchy Reigns, and as a great fan of everything Platinum Games have done I must urge each and every one of my readers to consider buying the game.

Sega have, to my great dismay, have done an abysmal job of marketing Anarchy Reigns. I tried hunting the published down during my visit to Gamescom 2012, but of course they didn't show up. Despite the popularity of Bayonetta, and the hype surrounding Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance Japanese developer Platinum Games have had to sit on their hands and wait for Sega to publish their multiplayer brawler which, as far as I can tell, will be 3D Super Smash Bros. with Bayonetta-like controls. This is just the right kind of game to start off 2013, and may just be one of the most well remembered.

We've actually covered Anarchy Reigns extensively over at Sega Addicts, I even selected the game as 'Sega Addicts Most Anticipated Game of 2013'. We were right there when Sega dropped the ball and announced that the games publication in the West would be delayed by a full six months. It made no sense then, as Platinum Games said that the game was already fully localised so that gamers around the world could play together, and it certainly makes no sense now. But finally, after all that time, our North American brothers and sisters can get their grubby little mitts on Anarchy Reigns. If you're a Northern American yourself then I heartily recommend that you at least consider checking this game out. Us Europeans and Australians, we'll have to wait until Friday January 11th.
