Be Enslaved In Style: Oddworld Arm Patch

The following is a plug for a Oddworld-themed piece of handicraft work by my girlfriend Emma Lenton that has been picked up by Oddworld Inhabitants. Their article can be found here and Emma's website and contact details can be found here.

A while ago my girlfriend Emma, a videogame handicrafter, was looking for some interesting source material that she could use for future projects. Unfortunately videogame handicrafts are like most handicrafts and keep to the 'cute and colourful' i.e. almost all videogame handicraft is based on Mario, Zelda and Pokemon.

It was at this time I was playing through the original Oddworld: Abe's Oddysee for a series of articles I was working on including a previous blog post. Emma thought the dark and often eerie land of of Oddworld and the symbolism and logos found within should be the focus of her next endevour: a videogame based sew-on patch.

After a few prototypes the Rupture Farms patch was finalised and was promoted by Emma across the internet. It as quickly picked up by the community manager over at Oddworld Inhabitants who asked if the instructions and pattern for the Rupture Farms patch, as well as a SoulStorm Brewery patch Emma had also been working on, could be published on the official Oddworld blog.

Check out the guide on how to make your own sew-on patch, and if you have any questions then feel free to contact Emma via her own blog, EveningEmma.
