TSSZ: Vertical Slice - Make Room for Sonic Boom

If you've been following gaming news lately then you've surely stumbled upon Sega's surprise announcement of their big Sonic the Hedgehog revamp, Sonic Boom. In a strange twist, this new take on Sonic will be led by a Sonic Boom CGI cartoon, followed by a a tie-in videogame.

I have nothing bad to say about the Sonic Boom redesigns, but many Sonic fans do. What's most surprising though is a core group of fanatic Sonic the Hedgehog fans who have convinced themselves that the "old" version of Sonic still exists and that Sega will be running both series in parallel.

What a load of old codswallop.

So silly is this train of thought that I put together an opinion piece for TSSZ as part of my Vertical Slice column. The piece, titled "Make Room for Sonic Boom", has already received a hearty amount of interesting comments, so feel free to jump in and join the discussion.
